-
Un-box and build your entertainment center or TV stand.
Assemble speaker stands. Place assembled furniture near where it will eventually be located, but with
enough room to have easy access to the back for connecting the system.
-
Un-box your surround sound receiver.
Put batteries in the remote control. Collect and put aside AM/FM
antennas, owner's manual, and other accessories. Place the surround
receiver towards the top of your furniture for most convenient
access. Be sure your receiver has adequate ventilation on top and
sides.
-
Un-box your entire surround
sound speaker system. Unless it comes with a proprietary speaker
wiring system, throw away all really thin, cheap speaker wires that are
included in the box. They are junk. Place each speaker in the
approximate area of the room where it will end up being permanently
installed.
-
Un-box and place your HDTV receiver
and DVD player on furniture shelves below your surround receiver.
-
Un-package all speaker wires,
audio video cables, and your power center. If your power center is
the component type, place it on your lowest shelf. If it looks
like a surge protector strip, place it behind your furniture.
-
Remove all empty boxes and packing materials from your work area.
